About wheel balancers

2D Wheel Balancers
The R148 Pro Shop 2D and the R150 are 2D balancers. The R150 balances passenger and light truck wheels with 2D automatic data entry, a 22″ monitor and a 6-second cycle time, and runs on standard 110V power.
3D and Diagnostic Wheel Balancers
The R155 Pro 3D and the R160 are 3D balancers; the R160 adds 3D automatic data entry, a laser line pointer, a 22″ monitor and a 6-second cycle time. The R190 is a master diagnostic balancer that maps wheel and tire runout and performs match mounting, handles 10″–30″ rims and tires up to 44″, and includes free setup and training by a certified Rotary technician.

What is wheel balancing?
Wheel balancing corrects uneven weight in a wheel and tire assembly. A balancing machine spins the assembly, measures the imbalance and shows where to place the correcting weights, which prevents vibration.
Is wheel balancing the same as wheel alignment?
No. Balancing corrects how weight is distributed around the wheel and tire assembly; alignment adjusts the wheel angles (camber, caster and toe) relative to the vehicle. Shops use a tire balancing machine for one and a wheel alignment machine for the other.
What is the difference between a 2D and 3D wheel balancer?
A 2D balancer measures distance and diameter automatically (Rotary R148, R150). A 3D balancer like the Rotary R160 also measures rim width automatically, so the technician enters less by hand.
Which Rotary wheel balancer should I choose?
